Jessica Milne has completed a diploma in Fine Art in 1998 from North Island College in Courtenay for which she received the Governor General’s Award for outstanding achievement.  She went on to the University of Victoria where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with Honours in 2001.  Following graduation, Jessica discovered the magic of illustrating children’s books.  As a working artist, Jessica has illustrated a four book novel series for Orca Book Publishers, beginning with Jeremy and the Enchanted Theater. She also created several interior illustrations for Touchwood Editions in a book called Fire Hall Cooking with Jeff the Chef and a number of watercolour images for a collection of poems, I Swallowed a Gnat!, published by Scholastic Canada.

Along with being a mother, illustrating children’s books and producing fine art paintings in oil and watercolours, Jessica is passionate about bringing the joy of creating and learning to other people, so she has recently entered the Bachelor of Education Post-Degree Professional Program at the University of Victoria to further her career.
